Climate Change and Pollution In The Mediterranean: The work at Ta Giordan

"Have you ever wondered what goes on at Ta Giordan Lighthouse research station? There are more than 30,000 large ships every year using the shipping "superhighway" between Malta and Sicily. Moreover Northwesterly winds blow more than 70% of the time across our land bringing with them whatever these ships dispense into the air. Professor Ray Ellul and his team at Xewkija and Ta Giordan are measuring the nature and effects of this atmospheric pollution in our skies. Hear what they have found out and discuss the difficult equation between healthy skies and the healthy economy that shipping contributes to."

This event will be held on Wednesday 14 th March at The Duke, Republic Street, Victoria at 7.00 pm.
