An Easter Concert

On Friday 6 th April, the Mount St Mary’s College & Barlborough Hall School Choir from the UK will be performing an Easter Concert at the Nativity of Our Lady Basilica, Xaghra.  The choir is under the musical direction of Ms Lucy Kitchener, and consists of pupils aged from 8 to 18 years. This concert is being organised in full collaboration with the Xaghra Basilica Chapter, the Xaghra Local Council and the JP2 Foundation.  This event will be held from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm.

The Last Supper

"Għaqda Drammatika Għajnsielem is also organizing a live reenactment of The Lord’s Supper where actors will portray Jesus sharing his final meal with his Apostles before his crucifixion. This activity will take place at Ta' Passi fields where the atmosphere and the natural surroundings including the animals, will take visitors back in time to experience The Last Supper. There will also be a live kitchen where traditional Passover food will be prepared. This activity will be held on Holy (Maundy) Thursday evening, 29th March 2018, from 8.30pm until 11.30pm and the following morning, Good Friday, 30th March 2018, from 9am until 12pm."

The Passion – Then and Now (Performances, one in English language)

"In collaboration with the Għajnsielem Local Council and Fort Chambray Limited, Għaqda Drammatika Għajnsielem will be presenting a performance entitled “Il-Passjoni: Il-Bieraħ u 
L-Lum”.  This dramatized version of the passion of the Christ will be held on Sunday 25th March 2018 at Fort Chambray in Għajnsielem at 6pm in Maltese with a repeat performance in the English language at 7.30pm. Entrance is free."

Live re-enactment of the Last Supper and Exhibition of the Holy Week - Nadur

From Friday 23 th of March to Friday 30 th of March, one can have the opportunity to see a live re-enactment of the Last Supper.  There is also an exhibition of the Holy week. This will be held at 54, Dun Frangisk Grima, Racecourse Street, Nadur.

In Coena Domini - The Supper

At the parish church of Qala there is going to be an exhibition of the Last Supper with the Apostles' table.  The exhibition is going to be held from the 23 rd of March to the 30 th March.

Miniature of The Passion of Christ

At the Victory Band Club, Xaghra, there is going to be an exhibition called "Il-Golgotha".  The exhibition consists of a Miniature of the Passion of Christ.  The figurines are carved from clay.  The exhibition will be from the 20 th of March to the 1 st of April from 8.30 am to 12.00 pm and 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm.

Holy Week Exhibition

At the Victory Band Club, Xaghra, there will be a Holy Week exhibition from the 20 th of March to the 1 st of April.  This exhibition consist of twelve tableaux, representing the Passion of Christ.

The exhibition is open from 8.30 to 12.00 pm and 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm.

Easter Bake Sale - Oratory Don Bosco

At Oratory Don Bosco there will be an Easter Bake Sale.  This event will take place on Saturday 17 th March in the evening and Sunday 18 th March in the morning.

Exhibition of a Miniature Good Friday Procession

At Il-Hagar - Heart of Gozo Museum, right now, is an exhibition of a miniature Good Friday Procession.  In this exhibition, there are over 300 clay figurines.

The Museum is open everyday from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.  The entrance is free.

Pilgrimage with the statue of Christ the Redeemer - Nadur

A Pilgrimage with the statue of Christ the Redeemer is going to be held in Nadur on Friday 16 th March at 6.00 pm.  The Pilgrimage will start at Telegraph Street.

Via Sagra (The way of the Cross) with the statue of Christ the Redeemer

A Via Sagra (The way of the Cross) with the statue of Christ the Redeemer is being held in Xewkija on Friday 16 th March at 6.30 pm.  The Via Sagra is going to be led by H.E Mgr. Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo.  The Via Sagra is going to start from Saint Bert Street.

Procession and Pageant with the statue of Christ the Redeemer

Procession and Pageant with the statue of Christ the Redeemer is being held at Fontana on Friday 16 th March at 6.00 pm.  There will be more than 200 people taking part in this pageant with characters and costumes from the passion of Christ.

Meditative reflections on the Way of the Cross

On Sunday 18 th March, H. E. Mgr Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo, will lead meditative reflections on the Way of the Cross along Ta’ Għammar Hill at Ta’ Pinu.  This event will be broadcasted live on Radju Maria 102.3 FM.  This event will start at 4.30 pm.

Easter Bake Sale

An Easter bake sale is being organised to help the Bataan Philippines children.  This event will be held next Sunday 18 th March at St George Square, Victoria from 8.30 am to 1.00 pm.

L-Imsallab fi Triqatna
