The Social Structure of 18th Century Gozo

On Friday 17 th May, there will be a lecture with the title "The Social Structure of 18th Century Gozo". The lecture will be held by Mr Kurt Cassar.

The lecture will be held at the Xewkija Windmill at 7.00 pm. The entrance is free.

A Cartography Exhibition is being held at the Xewkija Windmill, Gozo.  The exhibition is held in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Malta.

The exhibition is open everyday from 8.30 am to 8.00 pm, until the 2 nd June.  The entrance is free.

Heritage Malta

 "Heritage Malta’s website www.heritagemalta.org will be temporarily substituting physical visits to museums and sites, which are closed as of today until the 11th of April"

"The website offers tailor-made experiences for the current circumstances, aiming to meet the tastes and needs of various audiences. The Museums section, for instance, offers virtual tours, information and photos of the selected sites. Other virtual experiences offer insight into photographic collections, classical sculpture and Villa Guardamangia, among others."

Starting from Saturday 17 th August to Sat 7 th September, there will be a Festival of Art, Music and Theater at the Citadel.  There will also be other activities, like a walk around the Citadel or an Open Day of the Museums.

Travelling back in time with the Neolithic Gozitans

"Travelling back in time with the Neolithic Gozitans” – is the next in the series of Wirt Għawdex public lectures, during which osteologist and archaeologist Bernardette Mercieca Spiteri will reveal some intriguing details about the research being undertaken on ancient human bones that were discovered at the Xagħra Circle in Gozo."

This event is going to be held on the 15 th of May, at the Ministry for Gozo Hall, from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm.

The Biggest Re-enactment ever held in Malta and Gozo

If you love history or love to see re-enactments, then this event is an opportunity that you must not  miss.

"550 re-enactors from 17 countries shall bring episodes of Gozo’s history back to life by re-creating landmark events illustrating the French invasion of Gozo, the Islanders’ rebellion, and subsequent liberation.
The re-enactment is being organised by HRGM (Historical Re-enactment Groups of Malta) with the collaboration of members of 60 other re-enactment societies coming from places as far apart as Norway and Australia, and Spain and Russia, and who represent Maltese, French and British military forces, and also a number of civilians.
All events in programme are free of charge"
This event is being held on 9 th June and 10 th June, from 10.30 am to 3.00 pm.
