Science In Fiction: Not Always Science Fiction!

"How does Science impact on Literature? And does Literature influence Science? Blend your interest in both at this our final session of this season. Author, editor and former publisher, Karen Elizabeth Steed, will talk about the relatively new impact of science on fiction and non-fiction writing. She’ll provide a brief overview of the genesis of the genres of science fiction, fantasy and magic realism, then talk about some contemporary authors who use science for inspiration, including Margaret Atwood (wave theory) and others. Steed will use examples from her work to illustrate a less obvious use of science, including the baroque understanding of science, in her most recent non-fiction publication, Malta: The Beautiful Hour."

This event will be held on 13 th June at the The Duke Boutique Hotel, from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm.

An Evening of French Baroque

On 12 th June, at the Aula Mgr G. Farrugia, Victoria, from 8.00 pm to 9.00 pm, there will be a performance by O.J. Ruthven on Harpsichord.
